We do those jobs because that's who we are, Most of use first responders wouldn't do anything else. WE don't just "tolerate" this to make a living!What an asinine thing to say!the point is. we see a lot of crap that;s hard to shake off.I just understand the character's need to shut it all out. PERIOD. There is also no bigger high when you are able to save someone.That's why we do it!

The person below me is silly. Anyone can do what MD's do? Are you a professional at saving people from burning buildings? Do you know how to investigate a murder or maintain a crime scene? You think treating a burn victim is something anyone can do but only some people tolerate to make a living?

Yes he needs help,doesn't mean he's not a great DOC. It's no secret that many, first responders, ie:, cops, firemen. MD's. RN's,have a high incidence of ETOH and Drug abuse.Most do a job, 90% of the population refuse to do. i'm betting adeba has never had to clean up after GSW,.MVA,or burn victims.

Glad to see the fact that he's a junkie finally coming to the center of Owens' character. I trusted this show not to pull punches, and it hasn't. Anyone who has managed to fool themselves about the great doctor needs help - and here it is;-)

Clive Owens brings the real passion for medicine,just like he did in "Without Borders". Even though we grip about the health system we have now, it's good to see how far we have come.GREAT SHOW!!

Brilliant honest shows are now including racism and rape culture in our history - this show, like The Wire, is an educational vehicle worthy of any classroom.

Great show with excellent production and detailed settings. Hospital practices and procedures from early medicine seemed to be accurate and entertaining to see...also with a great cast and story development relevant to the era...
